Diabetes is a disease that occurs when your blood glucose, also called blood sugar keeps it level too high. Blood glucose is your main source of energy and comes from the food you eat. Insulin, a hormone made by the pancreas (pancreas function as Endocrine as well as Exocrine Gland both) helps glucose from food get into your cells to be used for energy. Sometimes your body doesn’t make enough or any insulin or does not use insulin well. Glucose then stays in your blood and doesn’t reach your cells. Over time, having too much glucose in your blood can cause health problems.
Therefore either due to the production of insulin is inadequate or because the body cells do not respond to the insulin properly. Diabetes is a disease of endocrine gland pancreas, any disturbance in the alpha cells and the beta cells of pancreas can cause diabetes. As an endocrine gland functioning is involved in this disease, it has become very critical for medical science to control it or cure the root cause completely.
More than 350 million people in the world have been afflicted by diabetes types and WHO says that this figure is likely to double by 2030. Diabetes has become the cause of millions of death every year in the world. Secondly, patients with Diabetes are 4 times more vulnerable for having cardiovascular problems and afflictions to kidney.
